Cable Suspension and Balance System with Low Support Interference and Vibration for Effective Wind Tunnel Tests

Abstract A cable-driven model support concept is suggested and implemented in this paper. In case, it a cable suspension balance system (CSBS), which has the advantages of low interference reduced vibration responses for effective wind tunnel tests. This designed both motion control aerodynamic load measurements. CSBS, required position or attitude test realized by eight motors, adjust length, velocity, acceleration corresponding cables. Aerodynamic measurements are accomplished consisting cells connected to assigned The measurement outputs were good agreement with reference data. effectiveness CSBS against experimentally demonstrated through comparative tests rear sting crescent (CSS). examined several NACA0015 airfoil model. clearly showed less than CSS, judging from drag coefficient profile.
